Just a few comments left by the small business owners of Havant

Havant Borough Council are failing our small businesses.

Government grants give small businesses the opportunity to borrow either £10,000 or £25,000 (dependent on type of business). This money has been given by central government to local councils who then give this money to eligible small businesses to help them get by during this crisis.

However, as you can tell from the image above, which is a screenshot of a post by Havant Borough Council, many small businesses are not receiving these grants. Some applied at the start of April – more than a month ago. There are more comments as well, this is just a screenshot of a few.

Coupled with our Tory MP Alan Mak going completely off radar during this crisis, it is unacceptable for businesses to be waiting this long.

The bottom line is that due to the council’s ineptitude, small businesses will be forced to close.

Hopefully, the grants do eventually arrive for these businesses, and no one has to be forced to close.

Stay safe.
