A Tesco aisle, taken just yesterday

Havant Labour are appealing for more items to help the PO9 Foodbank in this hard time. Anything you have or want to give, contact us at: havantsecretary@gmail.com

On the subject of panic buying, please think about others who cannot afford to. Our IT co-ordinator works at a supermarket, and has this to say:

“I work in a supermarket, and yesterday I was tasked with taking and folding all those cardboard boxes that some items come in. I was astounded by what I saw. I have worked in this store for nearly two years now, and I had NEVER seen the shelves so bare. Pasta, toilet roll, biscuits (!) were all being bought in bulk. Thankfully, everyone was being nice and no one got angry, which I have seen happen in other stores across the country.

This pandemic has brought the worst out in people. We get told all the time that anything remotely to the left  (politically, e.g. socialist) would result in empty shelves in stores, turns out all you need is a global pandemic and a Tory government.

Please, do not buy more than you need, and think about all the people who can’t afford to stockpile when shopping”.

So please, if you have anything you would like to donate to the PO9 Foodbank, please get in touch. This is a difficult period at this moment, so anything is appreciated.
