Our council candidate for Battins has a big endorsement: Darren McKenna of the PO9 Foodbank

“I first became aware of Rosamund when I received a call asking where the best place to take a donation to my FoodBank would be. I offered a photo and was taken aback by the surprise this offer encouraged. Rosamund had quite genuinely reached out to the community, this was not a cynical approach to gain public interest.

Since this initial meeting we have shared some very moving and challenging personal experiences. I have every confidence she is as committed to tackling the causes of food poverty as I am. Without hesitation Rosamund has received, and will continue to, my full public support.

I know my community well, I have been living and working in it most of my life, I raise my children here. For seven years my food bank and it’s associated projects have supported thousands of people, working with every major institution and out reach project. I think this qualifies an insight into the challenges we face and a understanding of the solutions we need to provide. I am able to recognise the potential Rosamund has to create pathways toward those solutions for our community, I believe in her ability to bring Labour into that process with a genuine integrity and an unrivalled passion.”
